This class is the basic introduction to our church family. Since we have members from many different church backgrounds, this class was designed to clearly explain who and what our local community church is about. Discovering Global Membership is divided in four sessions of an hour-and-a-half each and is taught by pastors and leaders of the church. The purpose of this class is to clearly explain biblical teachings about the Church, our United Methodist heritage, and give a glimpse of Global’s vision. Our Salvation, Our Significance, Our Sacraments, Our Structure, Our Statement of Purpose and Mission, Our Strategy
This class is the second of GLOBAL’S four basic classes. Since these classes build on each other, you must first attend Membership Class/CLASS 101 before taking this class. This class is designed to go through some of the basic spiritual disciplines to maturity in order to cultivate daily healthy habits/rhythms.
The purpose of this course is to come to learn and experience Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour through studying Him theologically, as well as building a foundation for His missional nature of the great commission through study of scripture all through intimate, transformational prayer. According to this great commission, we are called to teach (and practice) all of Jesus’ commands. The task of fulfilling the Great Commission includes therefore not only practical evangelism, but also the process of teaching & learning. The task of teaching all that Jesus commanded us is, broadly speaking, the task of teaching what the whole Bible says to us today. To effectively teach ourselves and to teach others what the whole Bible says, it is necessary to gather and study scripturally to understand God.
The purpose of this course is to come to learn and experience Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through studying Him in the Bible, identifying major themes, as well as building a foundation for studying and outlining scripture. Through the Bible survey teachings, students will have an overview in essential Biblical history, geography, and life in Bible times.
Nine month Missional Residency to equip young adults, aged 18-25, to lead disciple-making movements. The primary focus will be engaging others in a way that nurtures spiritual growth and the multiplication of disciples. Missional residents will receive needed training and coaching, live in Christian community with their fellow Residents, and serve alongside our local partners. The residency will function as an R&D Department for the body of Christ, working together to nurture disciple-making movements critical to the Church's faithfulness. As entrepreneurs, we value innovation and risk-taking. We celebrate learning from both successes and failures - both help us grow in our capacity to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
The purpose of this course is to come to learn and experience Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through a unique Group Study where we Look back together on where we are, Look up and engage with God through Biblical study and prayer, and then Look Forward as we stimulate and encourage authentic steps of obedience and accountability.
